I am pleased to find your site and make an entry in the guest book, Bill! My first live rock concert experience was Chilliwack on the Opus X tour at the Civic Arena (RIP) in Nanaimo. I still have a Tshirt from that show somewhere, needless to say it doesn't fit anymore! You also opened my eyes with a solo performance at a little room called the "Rutherford Playhouse", which was a little theatre in Nanaimo's Rutherford shopping mall. When the music is that good, and the musician that talented, one person can hold an audience in the palm of his hand! I would say we are overdue to see you here again. Keep up the good work, and I hope to see you around! Brett in Nanaimo

Saw you guys in Calgary last month. I've studied jazz, classical, flamenco, popular music...I love music. Art is subjective...beauty in the eye of the beholder....In my ear, the key change in GoneGoneGone is one of the most magical moments in the history of music. Moved me to tears at your concert. You've written some wonderful stuff and I imagine you must get tired of hearing about GoneGoneGone but...you were touched by the hand of god while you wrote that song. Thank you for writing it. Your brother sure played a nice solo...hell of a musician. Great band! Proud you boys are from Canada.

I too thought the show in Maple Ridge was just awesome! I've had the opportunity to see you more than a few times over the years and every time I've come out feeling that this was "the best one yet!". I believe it was in my graduating year from high school (77) that I bought my first Chilliwack LP -- "Dreams Dreams Dreams". I remember lifting the arm of that doo-hickey on my old (but very cool dome-top) record player so I could play it over and over and over again. I must have listened to that album - then "Lights from the Valley" a million times! I still really miss some of those early songs which haven't made it to CD! Last week, some 30 years later, I told my father that my girlfriend and I had tickets to your concert and asked him if he remembered the band Chilliwack. He laughed and said he could never forget -- after listening to "Baby Blue" and "Fly at Night" at least a trillion times (between myself and two younger siblings)...
From walking out of the show (which ended much too quickly in my opinion!) and overhearing all the comments, it seems that everyone certainly agrees that the talent in your group as it is today is just incredible (and how great it is to see your brother in there too!). Anyway, I just wanted to say that you are still my most favorite Canadian band - still hitting all those great high notes, still putting on the most amazing show, and bringing back soooo many memories (even if none of us are still sporting that big 70's hair!). Keep up the great work! Love my new CD!

Hey Guys just found your site and here I am . The show at Merritt was awesome last year. I remember listening to Bill and Joan harmonize as kids. Then it was hearing this new stuff and thought my God. Then I saw you all in person and couldn't stop marvelling at the pros in front of me. Good job and keep the rocking going. Hope to see you all again real soon . patsy

Hi Bill, from Saskatoon. I've been a big fan of Chilliwack since about 1970 when I happened to catch a CBC special with you playing in a studio with the audience sitting on the floor and on scaffolding. When you played Rain-o (I think it was the first song), I was hooked. As a fan, the double album is probably my favourite. Ridin', Changing Reels, Lonesome Mary, Eat...Great stuff! I've gotten to see the band live a couple of times here, in the mid-70's and a few years ago outdoors at an evening in the park. I only started playing an instrument a few years ago, and I'm loving it. I'm also making my own music on the computer, and tonight got the brilliant idea to try doing Changing Reels (not the whole version, of course). It's been a long time since I listened to it, since I just have the LP and don't have a system to play it on anymore, so I started searching the internet for info on it, and ended up here. I'm glad I found your site and got a chance to let you know how much your music has meant to me over the years. Thanks so much for that. And if you're ever in Saskatoon and feel like a good rollicking jam, give me a call.

I cannot thank you enough for your absolutely awesome, entertaining performance at Churchill Square in Edmonton, on July 25th/08. The music was as great, as the warm summer breeze. What a great atmosphere. I think everyone loved it, young and old. My Mum age 78, even said "you were great,"... yep the same Mum who used to tell my brother and I to turn down our record players, in the 60's and 70's. It's been years since I saw Chilliwack. I believe the last time was in Fort McMurray, at Keyano College in the 1980's. You guys have never failed to be fantastic and entertaining. I am not sure if it was being outdoors, my state of mind, or the fact my appreciation for music has got stronger, as I have gotten older, but the band sounded better than ever. Thanks again and cheers!!
Doreen Mason, Edmonton

Ok, I was thinking of the the words "gone, gone, so long" at work, and it's been at least 20 some years since I've heard it. I even asked one of the ladies if she remembered the song and even sang the words to a 25 year old in the office to see if she would remember it. Since she had never heard it, I knew it had to have been out in early 80's. So I googled it and found out it's the Chilliwack song "My Girl." So here I am. Isn't it funny how a song just pops into your head all of the sudden. Usually it will play on the radio within a week or two after I think about it. It's strange how that happens.
